About the event
In collaboration with The Beat on Market Street, Martinelli's Market and Stango Cuisine are bringing you an evening of storytelling, live music, food, desserts, and Afro-centered fun on the Martinelli's patio. Our Afro Taste & Tell is an opportunity to experience culture through conversation, music, and flavor. Guests will enjoy live African music, storytelling, and food from Stango Cuisine paired with desserts from Martinelli's Market, including cakes, cheesecakes, tarts, and other sweet treats!
We'll also be celebrating natural hair, culture, and creativity throughout the evening. Attendees are encouraged to come wearing their favorite afro styles, cultural attire, and bold looks for a chance to participate in our Afro Contest. The best decorated afro of the evening will earn bragging rights and be featured on City of Champaign social media.
